No tantrums here…
My experience with kiddie hair salons has always been the same: the place looks cool, my kids love it and sit still and happy in their seat, BUT they still manage to walk out with a less-than-stellar haircut. Too much glitz, not enough guts.
Thankfully, this is NOT the case at the new children’s hair salon, Tantrum, on the King’s Road, where I took my youngest son for his first real haircut last week. (I’ve been dreading the risk of cutting off his baby curls, so I was delaying the inevitable!)
He got a great cut, and we both left happy… curls in tact!
Tantrum is a cool, new concept in children’s hairdressing — designed to make the experience as easy and pleasant as possible for both the child and the parent. There are cars, trains, and planes for kids to sit in, and flat-screen televisions at every station. Books and toys are on-hand for easy distraction, as well as a treasure chest of goodies to help keep your kids focused and well-behaved. Downstairs is catered to older children (aged 8 to 14), with cool stations, more TVs and a fish tank.
They will also host birthday parties complete with entertainers, food, cakes and goodybags. Think little girls’ parties where they can get ‘pampered’ with sparkly manicures and new hairdos!
Ohhh… to be a kid again!
